RainHarvest PRO Installation
NOTE: Skip this section if the Dealer you bought your RV from already installed your RainHarvest PRO spouts.
Step 1:
-
Identify the left and right side RainHarvest PRO’s and where you would like to install each one.
-
Note: You may need a step stool or ladder to safely reach your desired installation area.
Step 2:
-
If you have existing gutter spouts, remove them from your RV using the appropriate tools.
-
Note: You may need to pull back the vinyl cover on the drip rail to access a screw. (If there is no hole(s) already drilled from an existing gutter spout, you will need to drill a small hole or multiple holes in the gutter rail with Step 3). After removal, ensure that the surface is clean and free from any debris.
Step 3:
If there is a hole(s) already drilled from an existing gutter spout:
-
Slide the RainHarvest PRO behind the gutter rail. Drill through the RainHarvest PRO in a central location(s) of the mounting tab, and into the existing hole(s) in your gutter rail.
If there is not an existing hole(s):
-
Slide the RainHarvest PRO behind the gutter rail, align the RainHarvest PRO so it is sitting flush against your RV, and drill a hole or multiple holes through the RainHarvest PRO, gutter rail, and the outer wall of your RV.
Note: The drill bit size will need to correspond with the mounting screw you plan to use.
Step 4:
-
Insert a screw(s) into the hole(s) and secure using your screwdriver. Do not use a power tool for this as it may apply too much pressure.
Step 5:
-
Using your clear silicone caulk, cover the screw holes and surrounding area to make sure the RainHarvest PRO is secure and water-tight.
*Repeat steps 1-4 for each RainHarvest PRO in your kit*
KIT Installation
Note: This system is designed to be “cut-to-fit” allowing you to customize the provided hose to your desired lengths. This kit includes hose menders and clamps which allow you to terminate each end with either female or male GHT connectors.
Step 1:
-
Connect the brass hose splitter to your sediment filter and decide where you want to have this located. If you are planning to route water into your fresh water tank, you may want to mount this about a foot above your fresh water fill. If you’d like to collect rainwater in an external reservoir, plan accordingly for the location of your reservoir. (see Diagram 1 below).
Step 2:
-
Connect your first female hose mender to one end of the provided hose making sure to tighten the hose clamp sufficiently. Now place one of the o-ring screens inside the female connector and connect this to one of your installed RainHarvest PRO gutter spouts. Next, route the hose to the planned location of your brass hose splitter. This is a good time to place a few of your adhesive hose clips making sure to avoid doors, windows, external compartments or other areas with potential for obstruction.

Step 3:
-
Mark your hoses at the length necessary to reach one of the male connections on your hose splitter. Now cut the hose at your mark and terminate the end with another female hose mender tightening the clamp to keep the connector secure. You can now connect this end of the hose to your splitter.

Step 4:
-
Now add your third female hose mender to one end of the remaining hose and connect to your additional RainHarvest PRO gutter spout. Follow the instructions from Step 2 using the adhesive hose clips to route your hose around any potential obstacles and down to the hose splitter. This is a good time to mark and cut your hose. Make sure you have enough room to connect your hose to the splitter and attach your fourth female hose mender. Finally, attach this female connector to the open male connection on your splitter.

Step 5:
-
Locate your remaining piece of hose and connect the provided male hose mender to one end. You can now measure the distance from the bottom of the sediment filter to your freshwater fill or external reservoir. Cut the remaining hose to your desired length. Now connect the male end of your hose to the sediment filter and route the unterminated end into your fresh water inlet or external reservoir.
Operating Instructions
Step 1:
-
Before each rain or snow event, ensure that your hoses, splitter, and filter are properly connected and that your storage tank (fresh water tank or alternative external reservoir) is ready for use.
Step 2:
-
During a rain or snow event, the water will be channeled from the RainHarvest PRO unit(s) into the hose(s) and directed to your storage tank.
Step 3:
-
Monitor the storage tank's water level. When the tank is full, utilize a new storage solution or disconnect your discharge hose.
